Yes. Your character lives on our servers, not on one device. To use the same account across different platforms - like PC and mobile - you link them with an email and password, and then your progress follows you everywhere.

There is no manual registration. On PC (Windows and Linux) you sign in with Steam; on mobile you use your Apple or Google account - so a game account is created for you automatically.

Embershroud is free to play. The alpha playtest is free to join - access is requested through our Discord.

No. We never sell combat power, gear, or competitive advantage - that's earned by playing, never bought. If a purchase would let someone pay to beat you, it isn't in the game.

Embershroud is server-authoritative: the game runs on our servers and your client only displays what the server calculates. Your stats, items and progress all live server-side, so they cannot be edited or hacked from a modified client - which keeps things fair for everyone and keeps your progress safe.

There's no manual grinding or twitch input. You author the Battle Plan - targeting, skills, priorities - and your hero carries it out, even while you're offline. The depth is in theorycrafting and refining your build, not repetitive clicking.

Guilds start in a basic form during the playtest, with guild chat to coordinate. Bigger guild features - like cooperative guild bosses - are planned for after launch.

An alpha playtest is scheduled to start this summer, announced first in our Discord - that is also where access is requested. The Steam page and wishlist open after the playtest.

Alpha is a testing and balancing phase, so progress made during the alpha is wiped when the game launches - everyone starts fresh at release. We will always be upfront about resets in our Discord.
